OUR INITIATIVES
HOW WE DIRECT FUNDS
GENERAL FUNDS
Everyday, dog rescues devote endless energy to saving abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs. But the costs of this lifesaving work, from paying rent to providing two square meals a day to every dog, to covering the emergency vet bills to keeping the lights and basic staffing costs, add up. Unrestricted operating funds provide our partner rescues with the resources needed so they can stay focused on their mission, not finances. Operating funds also tackle unexpected costs, whether medical emergencies or essential facility repairs. By helping stabilize finances, we empower local heroes to fully commit to giving vulnerable pups a new leash on life.
DOG SPONSORSHIPS
Rescues take in dogs of all backgrounds and circumstances, including those with medical or behavioral challenges that require extra time and intervention before they can be adopted out. Sponsorships lift the financial burden of this specialized support, directly improving the likelihood that these dogs with special needs can form part of a healthy and happy family. Monthly contributions help cover advanced veterinary care, specialized training to treat aggression or obedience issues, and basic upkeep and nutrition needs. With the right care and compassion, even the most underestimated pups can overcome obstacles and blossom in loving forever homes.
EMERGENCY VET FUNDS
When rescue dogs suffer medical emergencies, timely treatment can mean the difference between life and death. However, unexpected vet bills can overwhelm already stretched budgets. Emergency vet funds subsidize or fully cover needed care, from specialized surgeries to overnight hospital stays. Emergency vet assistance is a lifeline - saving dogs who otherwise may not survive and eventually allowing them to know the joy of good health. Knowing emergency funds are available also eases rescuers' stress when making difficult choices for beloved dogs in crisis moments. Together, we can give vulnerable pups the prompt care that offers the best chance of recovery.
EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY
Creating better lives for all dogs starts with building awareness at the community level. Educational initiatives empower both seasoned and aspiring pet parents to be informed caretakers. We provide resources and research based insights on topics including the importance of spaying or neutering, behavior modification and enhanced training, healthcare, nutrition, and more to help families and their pets to live a peaceful and happy life together. Our advocacy programs are focused on correcting widely believed myths about specific dog breeds that often make them the last to be adopted. For example, pit bull type dogs are very loyal, affectionate, and easy to train dogs, meaning they will thrive in homes that offer patience, compassion, and training. Ultimately, when local communities open their hearts and homes equally to dogs of all kinds, it's a win for pets and people alike. Knowledge and understanding create brighter futures.
